Palompon Institute of Technology benchmarking visit in Southern Leyte State University -Tomas Oppus

The Palompon Institute of Technology conducted a benchmarking activity at Southern Leyte State University – Tomas, Oppus (SLSU-Tomas Oppus) on May 08, 2024. Attending the activity to gain additional knowledge about the Disposal of Unserviceable Government Properties were Dr. Gregorio S. Ochavillo, VP for Academic Affairs; Dr. Allen Arpon, Director of Internal Audit Services (IAS); Engr. Charles Rommel Tado, Head of the Administration and General Services (AGS); Engr. Joubert Beltran, Planning Officer III; Ms. Lilibeth Piramide, Records Officer; Mrs. Arlene Sala, Head of the Supply Office; Ms. Vivien Misagal, Administrative Officer I and Mr. Benjamen Villafane, PIT Instructor. 

The primary objective of this benchmarking was to improve the disposal methods for unserviceable items. Key officials of SLSU-Tomas Oppus extended a warm welcome to all attendees and introduced the members of the SLSU-Tomas Oppus disposal committee. Mr. Dennis T. Narbonita, the supply officer with expertise in handling the disposal of unserviceable items, provided valuable insights and detailed information on the procedures implemented by SLSU-Tomas Oppus with regards to disposal of items that are no longer used. Dr. Gregorio Ochavillo, serving as the VP for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Disposal Committee and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), also contributed his insights and perspective from the benchmarking activity. Through this exchange of knowledge, both institutions exchange their approaches to efficient waste management of unserviceable items.

This benchmarking activity between Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) and SLSU-Tomas Oppus seeks to improve their approaches to disposing of unserviceable items and PIT eagerly anticipates applying the knowledge and insights gained in its future endeavors.
