Today, November 3, 2023, we mark an event that holds the potential to transform the landscape of maritime education and training. The Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR), represented by Captain Evert Jacobus van Leeuwen, has taken a significant step in supporting the development of future seafarers. This was accomplished by signing the Deed of Donation, which transfers the Netherlands Shipping Training Center (NSTC) to the Palompon Institute of Technology, represented by Dr. Norberto C. Olavides, the President of PIT, and several institute officials, including Dr. Rolando C. Entoma (VPA), Dr. Antonia D. Mendoza (VPREEA), Mrs. Sarah Frances C. Bate (CAO-Finance), Mrs. Haide O. Marquez (CAO-Administrative Services), and Mate Gilbert S. Sevilla (Dean, COMed), served as witnesses during the donation signing.

The Netherlands Shipping Training Center (NSTC) has long been at the forefront of maritime education, providing aspiring seafarers with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to navigate the challenges of the open sea. With this, the Palompon Institute of Technology will continue to ensure that its students receive the highest level of education and training in maritime studies.

This goes beyond mere paperwork; it signifies a bridge between two nations, two institutions, and countless dreams. It is a bridge that connects the rich maritime heritage of the Netherlands with the vibrant spirit of the Philippines. It's a bridge that allows knowledge and wisdom to flow freely, nurturing talents that will steer ships and safeguard the seas.

For the Palompon Institute of Technology, this will opens doors to endless possibilities. The future mariners trained at NSTC will emerge as leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers in the maritime industry. They will carry the legacy of this generous donation, proving that dreams can indeed set sail.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to KVNR for their unwavering support and to the dedicated teams at NSTC. Together, we are forging a brighter, safer, and more prosperous future for the maritime world. Join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone that underscores the power of collaboration, education, and dedication.
