Research is one of the main functions of the higher education sector (NHERA 2). PIT, in particular, is expected to lead in the conduct of discipline-based, policy oriented, technology-directed and innovative/ creative researches that are locally responsive and globally competitive. Research in PIT aims to formulate and implement a research development mechanism that includes capability building, administrative support to research and development projects, and an attractive incentive package for research outputs dissemination and intellectual property protection.
