Earlier today, the representatives from Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) visited the Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT) to have a comprehensive discussion about Cybersecurity and other services/trainings that they offer. 

The discussion aimed to foster a collaborative relationship between DICT and PIT, enhancing cybersecurity awareness and resilience across educational institutions in the region, ensuring that we are well-equipped to face the evolving challenges of the digital age.

During the meeting, Ms. Claire P. Fernandez, Leyte Provincial Officer from DICT, presented the latest trends and threats in the field of cybersecurity. She also highlighted the importance of cybersecurity training not only for the staff and faculty but also for students, particularly those studying Information Technology program. It was also discussed how DICT can support PIT through various initiatives, including cybersecurity training programs, resources for improving IT infrastructure, and collaborative projects to enhance digital security.

Dr. Rolando C. Entoma, VP for Administration and Finance Services, led the meeting together with Dr. Haide D. Selpa, the MIS Director and the MIS Staff.

We appreciate the DICT for acknowledging PIT and ensuring that we are equipped and prepared to handle any cyber threats.
