Consultation Meeting on the Student Thesis Fee

The PIT College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) held a Consultation Meeting on the Student Thesis Fee with key stakeholders to discuss the proposed professional fees for individuals involved in guiding and evaluating student research. Department chairs, faculty members, parents, and student representatives gathered at PIT-CHIC to review the proposed fee structure, share insights, and ensure a fair and transparent system that recognizes the contributions of thesis panelists, advisers, panel chairs, and statisticians.

This initiative, spearheaded by Mr. Rene S. Derecho, Head of the CAS Research Unit, aimed to establish a fair and sustainable approach to acknowledging those who dedicate their expertise to mentoring and evaluating student research. The discussion emphasized the importance of balancing institutional resources while recognizing the invaluable contributions of faculty members. The College values the input of all stakeholders in shaping policies that enhance the academic experience and uphold research excellence.
