The Institute Seal The PIT seal takes the form of a gear around which is inscribed the Institute's name to signify the Institute's total commitment to the country's technological advancement through its programs and services in instruction, research, extension, and production. The anchor between the two sea horses, the ship and the port on a blue sea depict the main program thrust of PIT, which is maritime education, and the seafaring life of the people in its service area. The sun rising over an open book in the horizon represents the promise of a better future that a good education PIT can provide.
